Contributed Papers and Posters

The Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri, will feature approximately 200 contributed presentations. These presentations complement the nearly 500 oral presentations scheduled for the 32 symposia by supporting this year’s conference theme “Fisheries Conservation and Management: Making Connections and Building Partnerships.” The contributed sessions represent partnerships with tribal, state, federal, nonprofit, university and private sector; and research and collaborations from all parts of North American as well as Denmark, France, Ireland, Pakistan, Poland, and the United Kingdom. These presentations will provide insight into a diverse array of topics, reflecting the diversity of American Fisheries Society members and the broad research projects being conducted around the world. The contributed sessions will focus on both freshwater and marine research on numerous fish species including sharks, salmonids, paddlefish, lobster, sturgeon, lamprey, and blue crab as well as lower trophic level organisms including phytoplankton and zooplankton. Some research topics include freshwater and marine fisheries management and population dynamics, river restoration, technological advances, statistical approaches, trophic and nutrient dynamics, genetics, and culture. There will be plenty of interesting presentations for everyone!
